No police clearance yet? Apply at any SAPS station (R150, fingerprints taken on site, allow 2 to 6 weeks) or through a SAPS-accredited fingerprint agent for faster turnaround. Files are encrypted in transit and at rest and deleted 90 days after a decision if you are not approved.

Photograph your vehicle

Riders and guardians see these photos before you arrive, so they match your car to your plate at the kerb. We read the plate automatically and check it against your licence disc.

Photos must be of the exact car you will drive. A different car at pickup fails the plate scan and the trip cannot start.

Face check

This is the same check you will pass before every pickup. We match your live face to your licence photo now, and to your certified profile every time you drive. It is what stops anyone else driving on your account.

Your face template is stored as an encrypted mathematical signature, not a photo, and used only to verify you at pickup. It is never shared with riders or third parties.

Install the Guardian driver app

You will accept trips, do the pickup face check, enter rider PINs and use the panic button from this app. Install it on the phone you drive with.

Scan with the phone you drive with to open safecab.app/drive and install there. Your application is saved to your number, so you can continue on either device.
